Five methods to effectively combat against naysayers and doubters.
Introduction.
No matter who you are in this world, you are likely to encounter people who doubt you. These negative naysayers can some from various sources. They sometimes come from people we don't really now. However, in the worst scenario they come from those we are the closet to. We have to accept the fact that there will always be people who don't believe we can accomplish or achieve things. It's just a rough fact of life. However, there is hope when it comes to dealing with doubters. Here are five ways to deal with people who doubt us. I hope you enjoy them, and are able to apply them to your life if necessary.
5. Keep your goals and aspirations to yourself.
If you have people in your life you feel you can talk and relate to, then this won't apply to you. However, if it does apply to you, keep your plans to yourself. There are many times where people will try to bring you down when they feel they can't accomplish something. Many people have that "crab in a barrel" mentality. When they are unable to succeed at something, they want you to feel like you can't also. If you have goals or aspirations you have set for yourself, keep them to yourself and focus on executing your plan. Try not to give negative people any firepower they can use to deter you from what you want. The idea is to show people less talk and more action. Remember that actions can speak volumes compared to words.
4. Tune out negative people and their words.
This can be a tough tip to follow, but it's an important one. Some people will do anything to get a rise out of you. They love to see you angry and upset, and they will say anything to bring you to that point. Don't let negative people bring you down to their level. It can be a tough task, but try not to let negative words phase you. Be a bigger person and focus on conquering them. We are all human-beings and have feelings, so it's natural to feel anger. However, it's important not to let others see it. If someone shows little respect or doubt you, try to keep a smile on your face and keep it moving. Know and understand that you have plans of your own, and you won't let others deter you from them.
3. Remove yourself from negative individuals.
One of the best ways to combat doubters is to remove them from your life. As I mentioned previously, this can be tough since these people can sometimes be the ones we are closet to. You ever heard the saying; "I can love someone from a distance"? Well that's a true statement that applies to many people. If there is anyone whether family or friends bringing you down, try to keep your distance from them if possible. Find some like minded individuals and positive people to surround yourself with. If you have a hard time finding people in your area, talk to people online who have some of the same hopes you do. You may be surprised at the number of people who share some of the same hopes and interests as you.
2. Focus on building a positive mindset.
We all are going to face hardships in life, so a degree of negativity is bound to set in at times. It's critical to focus on building a positive mindset. I saw a quote recently that stated "Positive thinking is powerful magic". I think that a positive state of mind is one of the greatest weapons to combat against those who doubt us. If we are able to have a positive outlook on life, we can let all negative words and energy roll off of our shoulders. Building a positive mindset can sometimes be a challenging task in a world that seems to be dominated by negativity. However, it can be done with belief and faith.
1. Believe in yourself.
I think this is the most important tip to keep in mind. Everything that we do in life starts within ourselves. We can't live for anyone else, therefore we can't always count on others to believe in us. It's great to have a support system of people that do believe in us. That is definitely an added boost of confidence. However, staying personally driven is a must. Nobody is going to achieve what we want for us, so we have to count on ourselves to do it. Faith and belief in ourselves is all that we need.
Conclusion.
Many of the things I pointed out in this hub are fairly obvious. However, I feel positive messages can't be stated enough. I'm going to end this article with a video that I find very inspiring. It features clips from one of my favorite hip hop artists, Stic.man's video "Runners High". There is a lady talking on the video. The words that she speaks are very positive and inspirational. Thanks for reading.
