Wheat grass research, and "Amazing Grass Wheat Grass" product.

For the past 6 months or so, I've heard much talk about wheat grass and it's benefits. I've seen it discussed on television several times, and I've also seen videos on Youtube with various people discussing wheat grass and it's benefits. All of this lead to me doing my own online research about wheat grass. After visiting various websites and doing a lot of reading on wheat grass, I decided to invest in some for myself. There aren't any health food stores where I live, well at least to my knowledge there isn't. Therefore, I decided to purchase a 30 day supply of wheat grass from the Vitamin Shoppe through Amazon. I'm going to briefly talk about wheat grass in this article, and I'm also going to give a brief review of this product. This article is intended for informational purposes only. I'm in no way endorsing or promoting this product. I hope you enjoy.

Brief product information.

Wheat grass itself is one of the most potent leafy greens on earth. This particular brand of wheat grass comes from a company named "Amazing Grass". This company sells a variety of organic green super foods. There were various other brands of wheat grass available to purchase, but I chose to buy this particular one. I mainly settled on this product because of the high customer reviews I read via Amazon. Amazing Grass states that this product is organic, gluten free, and raw. According to information on the product, this product contains USDA Certified Organic whole leafy wheat grass. This product also states that is is farm fresh, and is also a great source of vitamins and minerals. Other claims that this products makes include the follow:

  • Supports overall health and wellness
  • Supports healthy energy levels & immune function
  • Supports body alkalinity
  • Helps to achieve 5 plus daily servings of vegetables

Now that we know and have an idea of what this product is about and it's claims, lets get into how it's suggested to be used.

Suggested use and grassy taste.

The suggested use of this product is to take it first thing in the morning. However, the research that I done on my own concluded that it's okay to drink wheat grass at night also. The Amazing Grass Wheat Grass comes with a small measuring spoon inside of the can. Users are to mix 1 serving of wheat grass with 8 to 16 ounces of water or whatever beverage you enjoy most. My own research gave me the conclusion that most either use wheat grass when they juice fruits, or they use it in smoothies. I can honestly see why now. The taste of this powder takes awhile to get adjusted to. It literally tastes like grass. I personally chose to mix my servings with a bottle of water, and drink it straight like that. This probably wasn't the most wise move from a taste perspective, but once I was able to get adjusted to the taste, it became much easier to drink. After telling several family members and friends about this product, they said that there was no way they could drink it. I told them that there is a pill form of wheat grass as well, so that's an option for those who prefer not to drink it.

The conclusion.

So how did this product measure up for me? Well, within the first week or so using this product, I honestly didn't feel anything different. However, after the initial week passed I noticed a couple of changes. I seldom have low levels of energy since I jog and exercise several times a week, but it indeed felt like this product gave me a little kick of extra energy. I also noticed that my sleeping improved quite a bit. Every so often, I will wake up a few times during the night. However, I had several nights where II slept all the way through while drinking this product. I think that is the benefit I enjoyed most from drinking wheat grass. Overall I would say that this product served me pretty well for paying a little over $21 dollars for it. I definitely plan to continue purchasing this product in the future. I have juicer, so next time I plan on mixing it with some of the fruits that I juice from time to time. If you've ever thought about giving wheat grass a shot, I don't see any hurt in trying it. Just make sure to do your own research on wheat grass, or talk to whoever provides your healthcare before taking it if you're unsure. Keep in mind as I mentioned earlier, this article is meant for informational purposes only. I hope you were able to learn something from it, and thanks for taking out the time to read.
