Opinion Topic: Five Reasons Why You're No Better Than the Next Person.

Time For a Wake Up Call.

There aren't many things that I will openly say that I dislike. However, one thing that I - and I'm sure others will agree with me dislike, are people who think they're better than others for various reasons. Some people believe that it's cool or okay to look down upon others for some of the most ridiculous and superficial reasons. I especially notice this with a lot of celebrities.

Some people believe they look too good to give someone a shot, while others believe that the amount of money they have in the bank makes them superior to anyone who has yet to reach that type of status. An expensive car or a big fancy house, are other examples of material items that lead some to believe they're above everyone else. It's not only limited to looks and material items, but personal beliefs as well. Some people may think their religion or views are better than the next person.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally find people who think like this annoying. In my personal opinion, they are obviously stuck in an illusion of their own reality, and it's time for a wake up call. I've compiled a list of five reasons why I feel that no one is better than the next person. Most of them are obvious, but a lot of us lose sight of them. I hope you enjoy, and hopefully they make you think a bit if any apply to you.

You're a Human-Being Just Like the Next Person.

For all those arrogant people out there who believe they're better than everyone else, guess what? You're a human-being just like the next person. I realize that some people are blessed to be physically beautiful, and I have no problem with complementing someone's beauty. However, just because you look a certain way that appeals to the masses, doesn't mean you are better than anyone.

Lets put it this way - when you first wake up in the morning, your breath stinks just like the next person. We all eat, bleed, sleep, feel pain, and use the bathroom just like anyone else does. No matter how you try to cut it, we're all human-beings. People with super-human strengths and talents only exist in the comic books and movies.

Everyone one of us is unique in our own way, but your looks and material items shouldn't be what defines who you are. We should be defined by our actions, and the way we treat others. In short, some people really need to get over themselves. No one looks the same way as we continue to live.

We're All in the Same Struggle.

Anyone who makes it to the top of their craft and has reached their full potential deserves credit for that. However, that doesn't give you any authority or right to bash or make someone feel lower than you. Most of us all want the same things out of life. Some people strive to become rich and wealthy, while the majority of people just want to be able to live comfortably.

Instead of dissing or bashing others because they haven't reached the level of success you're at, why don't you try to instead help others reach their full potential. You would think that since we all have individual goals that we want to achieve, that we would be more willing to work together in order to achieve them. However, a lot of people make things harder because so many people have that "I'm better than you attitude."

I know a lot of people may not believe this, but many of the people at the top would rather see us fight among ourselves. At long as we're doing that, we're no real threat to them. I'm sure you've heard of the saying 'divide and conquer'. It's time to get over yourself. We're all in the same boat in this life, just different situations.

You're Just as Susceptible to the Hardships of Life as Anyone Else.

I've always believed that it can take a lifetime to reach the top, but little to no time to fall right back down to the bottom. We're all prone to the hardships that can come with life, and that applies to people that are wealthy or believe they're physically too beautiful for others. Just because you earn a fortune, doesn't mean you can't lose it all.

There are many things in life that we can cheat, but there are some things that don't discriminate or have prejudice towards anyone. If we live long enough, we're going to have to deal with losing people we care about. Sickness, depression, and poor health doesn't care who you are. Anyone and I mean anyone of us can be completely healthy today, and diagnosed with a terminal disease tomorrow.

Life is a lot shorter than we think. It's not like playing baseball where you get unlimited times at bat. Instead of believing that you're better than others, just live your life and try to be as happy as you possibly can while you're here. Relax and lose the ego yo.

Everyone Is Good at Something.

Every single human has something that they're good at. Just because some people earn a six figure salary, doesn't mean that they're good at everything. Therefore, you're no better than the next person. Some people believe that their talents or gifts make other inferior to them. This mindset is far from the truth.

Think about it for a second. A successful business person probably drives an expensive vehicle that they can't repair themselves if it happens to break down. They have to pay someone who probably makes less money than them in order to fix the vehicle. Just because you were blessed with good looks or the means to earn a lot of money, doesn't mean you won't need anyone else. Normally, the people you end up needing are the ones you least expect, so be mindful of how you treat those you feel are inferior to you.

A lot of people who feel that their less worthy than people in power may say things like, "I'm not on their level." Wrong! There is no such thing as not being on someones level. Like I mentioned earlier, we're all human-beings, and we all have something to contribute - regardless of how big or small it is. Everyone matters.

We all Have to Die Someday.

I know that the thought of death scares almost everyone, but it's something that we all have to do someday. We are all born to live a certain length of time on this Earth, and then we die away. Some of these people who believe that they're better than others need to understand this.

I've watched movies and read stories of people who've had near death experiences, and most of them all said the same thing. When you're fighting for your life, all the money, cars, and material items in the world don't mean nothing. They all said that the just wanted to have another chance at life, and obviously they were granted that since they were able to tell people their stories. I had a near death experience and although I was a kid when it happened, I can relate to what people who've had these types of incidents mean when they say they're thankful to be alive.

No one will outlive life itself. Just like I mentioned earlier, there are some things in life that do not discriminate against anyone; death is one of them. It's time for a lot of people to get over the cocky attitudes, and make the most of this life. It's definitely possible to live life to the fullest, and still know that we're all the same at the end of day.

Stick Out Through Your Actions.

I hope that anyone who read this didn't find it too depressing. It's important and vital that we all try to enjoy each day that we're given, and realize that no matter what happens in our personal lives, this world won't stop spinning for no one person. I'm a person that considers myself to be a realist, and sometimes in life, bad things do happen.

If you really want to enhance yourself and stick out from others, treasure and value everyone that's close to you. Attempt to be kind to everyone you come across. In a society where so many people are struggling and unhappy, there's already enough negativity going around. Lets counteract that with maintaining good hearts, positive minds, and practicing kind actions.

The way you treat others is what makes you unique. If anything, I think it's more important to take pride in that, rather than material items. The only person that you should strive to better than is yourself. Just my opinion though. Thanks for reading.
